You can use the Pivot Grids pages for multi-dimensional analysis of ticket data. The available menu items vary depending on your type of company, so some of the pivot grid types explained here may not be available.
Once you have created a pivot grid you find useful, you can save it as a default layout and reuse it later.
Creating a Pivot Grid
On each Pivot Grid page, you can use the configuration panel at the bottom of the page to create the type of grid you need. You can add multiple rows and columns and create aggregate columns. You can also add filter fields that can be used to filter the data in the table.
- To add a row to the pivot grid, select a field from the All Fields list and drag it to the Row Fields box. The blue arrows that appear indicate where you can drop the field. Alternatively right-click on the field in the All Fields list and select Move to Row Fields from the popup menu.
- To add a column to the pivot grid, select a field from the All Fields list and drag it to the Column Fields box. Alternatively right-click on the field in the All Fields list and select Move to Column Fields from the popup menu.
- To add an aggregate field to the pivot grid, select a field from the All Fields list and drag it to the Aggregate Fields box. Alternatively right-click on the field in the All Fields list and select Move to Aggregate Fields from the popup menu.
- To add a filter to the pivot grid, select a field from the All Fields list and drag it to the Filter Fields box. Alternatively right-click on the field in the All Fields list and select Move to Filter Fields from the popup menu.
- To delete an unnecessary field from any selection box, drag it back to the All Fields list or right-click the field and select Hide Field from the dropdown list.
- Implement your changes in the grid by clicking the Update button at the bottom of the page.
If you want the grid to update automatically after you make change, deselect the Defer Layout Update checkbox.
The selected fields display in the pivot grid:

- Selected filter fields
- Selected aggregate fields
- Selected row fields
- Selected column fields
You can refresh the data in the pivot grid using the Refresh Data button
. You can also use the date filter options on the top-left corner of the page to filter the displayed data.
You can change the layout of the configuration panel by clicking the Change Layout button
and selecting a different layout. To hide the configuration panel when you do not need it, use the Show/Hide Config button
next to the date filter options at the top of the page.
If you want to create a new pivot grid from scratch, either click the browser refresh button to clear all configuration settings on the page, or else remove all fields from the configuration panel (that is, clear the Filter Fields, Row Fields, Column Fields and Aggregate Fields boxes).
Saving the Pivot Grid Layout
After making changes to the grid, you can save the layout. Enter a name for the layout in the Enter layout name or select from list text field above the grid. After entering a name, click the Layout button
and select Save Layout from the Layout menu.
Layouts are user and grid dependent. The layout is stored with the app and is only available to you. No matter what device you are accessing the app from, your list of grid layouts will be available.
To reuse the saved layout later, open the dropdown list to the left of the Layout button and select the saved layout from the list.
