Rearranging Widgets

You can customize the Home page by adding and deleting the widgets, resizing the widget panels and changing the arrangement of the elements on the page. You can also modify existing widget properties.

Note: Additional widgets can be created, but currently widgets can only be authored by Trimble. Telerik Charts, Telerik Reports and SSRS Reports are all supported.



Adding a Widget

To add a widget to the Home page:

1. Click the plus icon  on the top-right corner of the page.The ADD WIDGET panel opens at the bottom of the page.
2. Open the Widget dropdown and select the widget you want to add.
   Each widget is briefly explained below the dropdown.
3. If you want to change the name that is displayed on the widget panel, edit the default name in the Title field.
4. Open the Time Period dropdown and select the time period from which data is shown in the widget:
   • Dynamic: No widget-specific time period is set. You can select a different time period each time you open the Home page using the date range settings at the top of the page. This is the default setting.
   • Exact Dates: Data that falls between the To/From dates you specify is displayed when you open the Home page. You can change the date range by either entering the dates or using the calendars for each selection.
   • Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This Year, Last Year: Data from the selected time period is displayed when you open the Home page.
5. If the widget allows the number of items within the widget to be controlled, the Top N field displays; indicate how many items you want shown in the widget (for example, if you enter 10 it means only the Top 10 items will be shown in the widget). 
6. Select ADD.

When adding a widget, you may want to include the time period that you select in the title for the widget.  For example, append “Dynamic” if the time period is dynamic, append “This Week” if the time period is static, etc.  This ensures that when you view the widgets you know what time period is being used.

Rearranging Widgets

You can rearrange the widgets on the Home page by dragging-and-dropping the widget elements. To move a widget, left-click the widget title bar and, holding the mouse button down, drag it a different place on the page. The positioning of widgets is constrained to a predefined tile structure. You must drag the widget close enough to a tile boundary or it will revert to its previous position. The widget is highlighted when you drag it.

Resizing a Widget Panel

You can enlarge widget panels that typically contain a large amount of data. The positioning of widgets is constrained to a predefined tile structure, so the panel sizes are also fixed. If the boundary of the resized widget panel does not come close to a tile boundary, the widget will revert to its previous size. The widget is highlighted when you resize it.

1. Hover your mouse over the widget panel.
   A resize icon  appears on the bottom-right corner of the panel.
2. Left-click the resize icon and, holding the mouse button down, drag it down or to the right to enlarge the panel.
   To reduce a widget panel, you can drag the icon up or to the left.

Modifying the Properties of a Widget

You can rename a widget or change the time period from which a widget shows data.

1. Click the widget menu icon  in the title bar of the widget you want to modify.
2. Select Properties from the dropdown.
   The WIDGET PROPERTIES panel opens at the bottom of the page.
3. To change the widget name that is shown on the widget title bar, edit the name in the Title field.
4. To change the time period from which data is displayed, open the Time Period dropdown and select the time period from which data is shown in the widget:
