Grids

Grid pages provide the ability to query data and group, sort, filter, aggregate and export the data presented.

The following picture is of a typical grid with the main parts labeled.

  1. Date filter selection. Date filtering options are available in all grids with temporal data and function the same way in all views.
  2. Data Rows. Double-click a row to edit the editable row data; some grids also have a clickable edit icon  on each row. See Selecting Rows to learn how to select multiple rows.
  3. Columns. Right-click the column header to display a popup menu; from here you can change which columns are displayed in the grid using the Columns option, and enable computations for columns using the Aggregates menu.
  4. Column filters. To filter the grid by column content, enter a term in the text field, click the column filter icon and select the filtering logic (or press [ENTER] to apply the default filtering logic).
  5. Layouts. Use the options that open from the Layout button to save your favorite grid layouts and open previously saved favorites.
  6. Print grid data. Use the Reports menu options to select a report to print. Click the print button to print the selected report.
  7. Export grid data. Click the Export button to view export options and use the menu options to export grid data to Excel or CSV.
  8. Column headers:
    • Drag column borders to resize a column.
    • Click a column header and drag it to a different location to change column order.
    • Click a column header to sort by column content in ascending direction and click again to switch to descending direction. The third click clears the sort for the column.
  9. Grouping:
    • Click the Grouping Bar button to enable the grouping bar.
    • When you want to group grid data by a specific column, drag the column header to the grouping panel.
    • Drag the column header back to its place to undo the grouping.
If you have administrative permissions, you can right-click on a column header and use the Rename option on the popup menu to change the name of the column; see Custom Field Labels for details.
