Source Translation

Different organizations may use different Source ID's and Names for the same Source (Harvest Area). You can use the Source Translation functionality to translate the ID and Name of sources used by other organizations to an ID that is more meaningful and consistent to yours.

For example, you see tickets from two scale sites, each owned by different organizations.  Tickets from the first scale site reference a source as BLUE RIVER.  The second scale site uses the ID of 06158.  Your ID for the Source is BR158.  For you to determine how many loads were delivered from BR158, you would need to add the loads with a Source ID of BLUE RIVER to the loads with an ID of 06158. By using Translations, you can automatically translate instances of BLUE RIVER to BR158 for all tickets from the first organization and from 06158 to BR158 for all tickets from the second. This then gives you a consistent view tickets, independent of how organizations refer to the same source.

To add an source translation, click the Add New Translation button on the top-left corner of the page and enter:

  1. The Organization that owns the scale site (select from dropdown list).
  2. The Old Source ID. You can find this by looking at the All Load Tickets page and showing the Source ID column.
  3. The New Source ID. This is the ID that you would like the Old Source ID translated to.
  4. The New Source Name. This name will replace the name entered at the scale site.
Click the Save Changes button.

To remove a translation, delete the record by clicking the delete button  for that row in the grid and then click the Save Changes button.
